Matthew S. Hinton

Matthew S. Hinton is a playwright, teacher, actor, editor, former record-store manager, and failed street-fighter from Wilkes-Barre, PA. He is the head researcher for the official biography of Norman Mailer (forthcoming), and is the author of Variations on Ten Rounds, Linda Goes to Mars, The Land of Milk and Honey and Wheat and most recently, Quiet Cowboy. He is a founding board member of Gaslight Theatre Company, and is proud to helm PlayRoom, a series of one-act plays from regional writers. He dreams in analog.

Matthew played the role of Lysander in Gaslight’s first production, William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (August 2003).  Other acting credits with Gaslight include;  King Alonso The Tempest (Aug’10), Michael Evans Dancing at Lughnasa (Jan’10), Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet(Aug’05) Cléante in Tartuffe (Jan’04). Matthew was one member of the trio, along with Jason Alfano and Sean J. McKeown, in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged (June’06). He also appeared in Oedipus Rex (Jan’05), and MacBeth (June’04).
